Voluntary union of municipalities Olešná

The voluntary union of municipalities Olešná associates villages of Paskov, Sviadnov, Staříč, Žabeň and the town of Frýdek-Místek. It is a suburban microregion the unifying element of which is the brook Olešná.

The culture heart of the voluntary union of municipalities Olešná as well as the Beskydy region is the town of Frýdek-Místek which offers many social events and festivals of different genres especially during the summer time. Here you can visit its castle with historic expositions, galleries, museums or some of the churches. Frýdek-Místek is dynamically developing industrial town offering to its inhabitants and visitors also a broad range of sporting activities. We can invite all lovers of water, water sports and skating to the Olešná Aquapark equipped with many attractions, outdoor covered swimming pool, volleyball playgrounds or track for inline skating and skateboard. Bikers can enjoy the network of variously demanding cycling tracks that will lead them to all corners of the microregion and make them acquainted not only with its history but mostly with its present. During their trips into the outskirts of Frýdek-Místek, the hikers will particularly appreciate the views of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy range with its dominating mountain Lysá hora (Bald Mountain).
