Střítež is situated in rolling highland at foothills of Moravian-Silesian Beskydy on the small stream Ropičanka, side stream Olše and on the Black creek. History of Střítež dates back to the 12th century. Its tourist attraction is first of all Roman Catholic church of St. Archangel Michael built in the year 1806 on the top of Střítež Hill. Important Czech painter Josef Mánes collected themes for his pictures in the surroundings of this village in the years 1846-1854. His memorial is situated at the path to Smilovice. Tourist attractions are accessible by a network of walking paths, cycle paths and there is a unique occasion of horse riding trips by hippo paths in the surrounding of the village.
