History The place was named according to former archduke forest, where there was a spring well, which was a point of destination of pilgrims from basilica of the Visitation. These people believed that the water from the well has got magic power. In 1786 the forester Michal Hirschheimer erected a wooden cross at the well rising from the sidehill. The priest of Frýdek, duke Justus Vilém Pražma, had this cross sheltered. His successor Josef Karel Schipp built in 1834 today?s wooden chapel of the St. Cross and the priest Pavel Prutek had in 1840 made a stone well. The priest Karel Findinský provided for a cement water reservoir, in which the pilgrims could wash their legs, he repaired the well, and in 1871 he consecrated the chapel with Calvary statuary.
