Ostravice

 The submountainous village Ostravice lies in the centre of the recreation area of Beskydy, to the southeast of the district town Frýdek-Místek. The river of the same name forms a long, widely opened valley which rises in its top part sharply towards the tops of Lysá Hora and Smrk. The vacationers have a rich selection of tourist tracks leading on the mountain crests, through valleys of mountain streams and calm coves. The village is closely linked with tourism. Beautiful nature, surrounding and deep forests together with an attractive offer of local hotels, mountain chalets and other objects are popular with the vacationers. Network of tracks for pedestrians and cyclists, attractive ski terrains ? this all is an extraordinary attraction for the visitors of the village that can visit a wooden house of Petr Bezruč, see national cultural monuments and series of other interesting matters of local folk architecture or a series of works of art of the artists of Ostravice in local gallery.

Tip:

Blockhouse of Petr Bezruč in Ostravice was acquired by Silesian country museum as a part of inheritance of poet Petr Bezruč. Residential part of the blockhouse maintained its original appearance and equipment of the interior, which was designed by Bezruč himself. In the adjacent wood shed an exposition titled ?Through the Region of Petr Bezruč? was established. Blockhouse visitor can find not only authentic environment of the summer house of the poet, but necessarily follows his traces, touches the life story of the poet and can get to know the environment of the region below Beskydy Mountains, whose fate, so complicated in the past, was described by the poet in his opus magnum ? Silesian Songs.
