Metylovice village lies at the foot of Moravian-Silesian Beskydy under forest massif of Onřejník in the place with a beautiful view of surrounding mountains. The history of the village starts at the end of 13th century, when the first settlers started to settle here and cultivate the poor land in order to have something to live on. Since 17th century until the half of 20th century the village was known for a developed leatherworking production (especially production of whips), which were exported not only to Europe, but also overseas. Several original wooden constructions were preserved until present and document the difficult living conditions, in which the ancestors of present population lived. The position of the village on the mountain sides predestine the village and its inhabitants for calm living and development of tourisms. The village is a good starting point for trips to the surrounding mountains accessible on the tracks for the pedestrians, cyclists and cross country skiers.

- St. Anna´s chaple ? in the niche there is a statuette of St. Anna with the inscription ?Saint Anna, pray for us?.

Tip:
Metylovská rychta ? farmhouse ? originated at the highest point of the village, close to the spring of Metylovice stream, probably at the beginning of colonization at the turn of 13th and 14th century.
There is a beautiful view of the mountains from the farmhouse. Of Lysá Hora to the south, of Ondřejník to the west, Metylovská hůrka to the north and Fojt´s mill, saw mill and Ostravice river bed to the east. The time of the reeves ends at the beginning of 1850´s. The farmhouse changes its owners and in 1923 the object was built by summer colonies of Ostrava. They organize summer stays for the kids. In 1949 children convalescent home is moved here from Jásnké Lázně in Krkonoše. Today the convalescent home is called Professionl Convalescent Institute Metylovice ? Moravian-Silesian sanatorium and serves as rehabilitation centre as well.
