The name Nižní Lhoty (Dolní or Spodní Lhota) is known from the resources since 16th century. Despite that the village was undoubtedly founded during the land colonization already at the turn of 13th and 14th century. The village Nižní Lhoty is a small village in the area of Moravian-Silesian Beskydy in a beautiful environment of the alluvial plain of Morávka river, aside from roads in the altitude of 359 m.

Morávka river flowing along the entire village, is a sample of original and in the past very frequent type of river in Beskydy area. In this section the river preserved its natural wild current in the gravel sediments with characteristic communities and accompanying natural forests that are interlinked with populations of rare and endangered species of plants and animals.
